PHILADELPHIA & LOS ANGELES--()--Poptent (www.poptent.com), a crowdsourced video production and media company for Fortune 500 brands and agencies, today announced the launch of Poptent Productions, a premium, full-service video production business unit. Poptent Productions vets and hand-selects the most talented producers from Poptent’s growing social network of nearly 50,000 videographers in 140 countries to produce commercials and other videos for major brands and agencies, exactly to their specifications – all at a fraction of the cost of traditional video production methods.

Today’s launch follows a six-month testing phase during which Poptent Productions has successfully engaged many of the world’s best-known brands, including Dell, Intel, Jaguar and General Mills. Developed to be a faster, more nimble alternative to traditional video production methods, Poptent Productions enables brands and agencies to more efficiently develop an array of online and offline video solutions.

As part of today’s launch, Poptent has tapped company veteran David Mann to head Poptent Productions, as VP and general manager of the business unit. The company has also hired award-winning producer Jon Seidman as executive in charge of productions for Poptent Productions, bringing his wide base of experience which includes developing programming for MTV, A&E, Sundance, Discovery, Travel, as well as several global independent and Web-based productions.

Poptent Productions leverages Poptent’s global community of nearly 50,000 videographers to hand-select those best-suited for a specific brand or agency assignment, assuring the highest quality work is delivered in a timely fashion. By matching the specialized skill sets and expertise of the Poptent videographers to the brand or agency’s creative brief, clients are consistently rewarded with strong creative executions. Poptent Productions then deploys a highly experienced team of executive producers, led by Seidman, who work directly with clients and Poptent’s member creators to produce, polish and perfect the videos en-route to completion. In addition to the commercial advertisements for online and TV use that have comprised the bulk of Poptent’s business to-date, Poptent Productions is also being engaged by businesses to develop corporate videos, how-to videos, video storyboards, and more.

“This is the ideal time to launch Poptent Productions, specifically as global demand for high-quality video from major brands and agencies is at all-time high and accelerating,” said Andy Jedynak, Poptent CEO. “We believe that Poptent Production’s unique model is highly beneficial both to our clients, by being cost-effective and fast, as well as to our community of producers, by providing opportunities and incentives to be directly selected to work for some of the world’s most visible and respected brands.”

One of Poptent Productions’ pilot clients is Dell, an engagement which initially culminated in the completion and national broadcast of a high-profile TV ad aired during college football’s BCS Championship Game: (http://bit.ly/Ii9Jaf). Poptent’s producers are both highly skilled and motivated, so we are committed to providing them with everything we can to foster their continued growth and success, ultimately enabling them to make a living out of doing what they love.”

Poptent Productions continuously evaluates Poptent’s membership to assess producer capabilities, progress and growth potential, while providing professional development opportunities such as direct tutoring from seasoned executive producers who have decades of experience in working with many top brands and agencies. Poptent Productions rewards top producers who have been previously selected by brands while providing opportunities and tips for newer members to continue honing their skills, with regular benchmarks along the way.
