University of Utah Nuclear Engineering Program Selects DevonWay to Promote Corrective Action Training

DevonWay provides corrective action software and training to nuclear engineering students

SAN FRANCISCO--()--DevonWay, Inc., the leading supplier of continuous improvement software and services to the utility industry, and the University of Utah Nuclear Engineering Program announce that DevonWay is providing nuclear engineering students with next-generation software and training in Corrective Action processes.

DevonWay is working with the Nuclear Engineering Program to implement its Track & Trace general action tracking solution. DevonWay is also providing students with an overview of the Corrective Action processes as implemented in several high-performing nuclear generating stations. Students will use DevonWay’s nuclear-grade ActionWay product to role-play the process of initiating, reviewing, and processing corrective actions at the University of Utah’s nuclear engineering facilities.

“We are thrilled that our nuclear engineering students will receive hands-on experience developing a Corrective Action process and the software to support it,” said Tatjana Jevremovic, Ph.D., EnergySolutions Presidential Endowed Chair Professor in Nuclear Engineering and Director of the University of Utah Nuclear Engineering Program. “Corrective Action is central to a strong nuclear safety culture and an essential part of nuclear engineering education as we prepare a new generation of nuclear engineers. To the best of my knowledge, we are the only educational program in the country (and the world) that is taking this significant step of training our students in the rigors of nuclear safety culture.”

“We are pleased to partner with the University of Utah’s Nuclear Engineering Program in reaching a new standard of excellence in implementing, for the first time, a Corrective Action Program at the university,” said Bob Felton, DevonWay CEO and Chairman. “We look forward to working with their students, many of whom will become leaders in the nuclear industry.”
