Big Fish Games Reports 9th Consecutive Year of Record Revenue

Casual Games Leader Surpasses 1.5 Billion Download Mark and Continues to Scale its Exclusive Catalog of Premium Casual Games

SEATTLE--()--Big Fish Games today announced year-over-year organic revenue growth of 30% in 2011, marking 9 consecutive years of record revenue for the cross-platform developer, publisher and distributor of premium casual games. The company’s growth stems from robust digital sales of its premium and exclusive game catalog accessible to consumers across PC, Mac, smartphone and tablet devices.

“We delivered another year of excellent results in 2011, including healthy market share gains, revenue growth, and profit,” said Jeremy Lewis, CEO of Big Fish. “We grew particularly fast in mobile, where trust in our brand and our games extended very rapidly and naturally to mainstream consumers on iPhone and iPad.” Big Fish just released its 100th unique game in the iTunes marketplace, where its Apps have an average rating of 4.5 stars from consumers. Today, more than 150 independent mobile developers are partnered exclusively with Big Fish.

Related, Big Fish Games today announced the acquisition of Oakland-based Self Aware Games, the developers of several casino games, including the hit mobile-social casino application, Card Ace: Casino. Self Aware co-founder Colin Liotta stated that “Big Fish has everything we were looking for in a partner – an outstanding positive corporate culture, extensive analytics infrastructure, and an established 10-year track record of building trusted and enduring relationships with hundreds of developers all over the world.”

Big Fish will continue to delight consumers with expanding genre selection on more devices, with enhanced business models and delivery modes. “From cloud gaming to native apps to mobile social to premium PC to games on Facebook, Big Fish will continue to build as we have for the past 10 years by addressing the needs of the mainstream casual game audience, expanding genres and introducing new platforms and new business models,” said Paul Thelen, Big Fish’s founder and chief strategy officer.
