MyLoadBase N.V. purchases stake in Slightly Mad Studios Automotive GmbH

WAALRE, the Netherlands & BERLIN & LONDON--()--In line with its growth strategy on the entertainment products market, MyLoadBase N.V. is purchasing a majority stake (60 per cent) in Slightly Mad Studios Automotive GmbH, headquartered in Berlin. Slightly Mad Studios Automotive GmbH is a joint venture of Ian Bell (CEO of Slightly Mad Studios Ltd in London) and Michele Pes.

Slightly Mad Studios Ltd enjoys international renown as one of the best development studios for motor racing simulations. The company’s most recent milestone is the development of Need For Speed™ SHIFT, which has sold millions of copies, for games publisher Electronic Arts.

All of Slightly Mad Studios Ltd’s technology is consolidated into Slightly Mad Studios Automotive GmbH, which deals with strategic further development and marketing.

Slightly Mad Studios Automotive GmbH is currently focusing on the World of Mass Development (WMD) project (www.wmdportal.com) – a new milestone in the creation of simulation games. WMD is a sophisticated platform for the creation of games that allows developers to showcase their ideas to an active community, among other things, and to use development tools that would normally only be available to major games companies.

“The investment in Slightly Mad Studios Automotive GmbH is a key step to success for our start-up company”, commented Devid Wagner, member of the Management Board of MyLoadBase N.V.

“Thanks to the partnership with Slightly Mad Studios Automotive GmbH, MyLoadBase N.V. will now have access to top international technology, which it can use strategically for its projects. This will allow MyLoadBase N.V. to develop games that rank among the world's best in terms of quality", added Michele Pes, designated member of the Management Board of MyLoadBase N.V.

Ian Bell, CEO of Slightly Mad Studios Ltd, stated: “Using our globally unique technology, we want to create the most captivating and sophisticated products for all relevant games platforms. The first product based on WMD is project C.A.R.S., which we are developing for various platforms (PC, WiiU, Xbox, PS3). Project CARS allows players to create their own personal career as a racing car driver, starting in karts and then progressing to the series of their choice, from rallying to GT. The game, which includes both free and paid features, will allow for interaction with other players, along with personal management strategies and a diverse array of custom design options for colour, logos and other accessories.”

Michele Pes added: “We will consolidate all technology rights and business development in Singapore. We will be at the heart of Asia, the fastest growth market of all for entertainment products. Our team of experts is recruiting outstanding talent worldwide, but in Singapore we are clearly demonstrating the significance of Asia as a market for computer and video games.”
