Future Facilities North America to Join Lockheed Martin at the 2012 Technology Convergence Conference to Reveal How Data Center Managers Can Reclaim Capacity through Proper IT and Facilities Management

Lockheed Martin Data Center Will Be Used as a Case Study

2012 Technology Convergence Conference

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--Future Facilities North America (Future Facilities NA), a leading provider of data center design and operations management software, today announced that consulting engineering supervisor Saket Karaigikar will join Corban Lester, Lockheed Martin’s Program Development Manager for Energy and Environmental Services, to discuss how tighter integration of facilities and IT management systems can reduce stranded data center capacity at this week’s Technology Convergence Conference (TCC).

“Although the introduction of server virtualization and high-efficiency hardware components can improve the efficiency of data center sub-systems, further gains can be realized by taking a holistic approach that considers the dependencies between IT and facilities systems”

Today, February 2 at 2:35 p.m., Mr. Karaigikar and Mr. Lester will host a discussion titled Reclaiming Stranded Capacity Though Integrated IT and Facilities Management that will leverage a Lockheed Martin case study to illustrate the difference in efficiency between a data center with and without integrated operations. This panel discussion is part of the TCC’s track of sessions covering top-of-mind IT, facilities and data-center issues.

“Although the introduction of server virtualization and high-efficiency hardware components can improve the efficiency of data center sub-systems, further gains can be realized by taking a holistic approach that considers the dependencies between IT and facilities systems,” said Saket Karaigikar. “I look forward to showing attendees how cutting across traditional responsibility silos with a system-wide approach to operations management can not only substantially reduce energy consumption, but also increase data center capacity and lifespan.”

In addition to presenting, Future Facilities will be exhibiting its latest 6SigmaDC data center design and operations software during the exhibition portion of the show.
