ITT Exelis names Chris Tucker vice president, International Government Relations

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ITT Exelis (NYSE: XLS) has appointed retired U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Christopher Tucker vice president, International Government Relations for the global aerospace, defense and information services company.

“His deep program management and strategy experience and his understanding of doing business globally will help Exelis expand its international footprint. We are thrilled to have him on our team.”

Tucker will be responsible for the development and oversight of international strategy. He will establish and maintain relationships at the senior level of the U.S. Department of Defense, military service staffs, government agencies, and international attachés. He will also be a primary source for coordinating and interfacing with these customers for sales worldwide.

Tucker will provide Exelis with competitive intelligence and political risk analysis information from industry associations, government agencies, and diplomatic contacts. He will assist the company’s business divisions with export license proviso appeals and coordinate with U.S. government regulatory agencies to enable timely export of Exelis products.

Tucker joins Exelis after more than 32 years of distinguished service with the U.S. Army as a recognized leader within the defense community. Most recently, Tucker was the commander of the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command where he served as the senior leader executing the Security Assistance and Foreign Military Sales Programs. In the past, Tucker held roles such as program manager, Saudi Arabian National Guard Modernization Program, and commander of the Army’s Operational Test Command. Tucker has a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration from The Citadel Military College of South Carolina and two masters degrees in military art and science from the Command and General Staff College and the School of Advanced Military Studies.
