Metro PCS Sued by Klausner Technologies for Visual Voicemail Patent Infringement

NEW YORK--()--Klausner Technologies, Inc. announced today that it has filed suit against US mobile carrier MetroPCS (PCS:NYSE) for patent infringement under the Klausner U.S. Visual Voicemail patents.

The lawsuit is based on MetroPCS’s provision of visual voicemail products and services allowing subscribers to visually identify and selectively retrieve voice messages and which infringe the Klausner Technologies Visual Voicemail Patents.

Klausner Technologies has licensed major US mobile carriers for Visual Voicemail and currently has a total of 37 Visual Voicemail patent licensees under its U.S., European, and Asian patents, including international mobile operators, cell phone manufacturers, cable/VOIP providers, providers of OTT VVM products as well as providers of VVM products and services for the enterprise market.

The suit has been filed in federal court in the Eastern District of Texas by the California law firm of Dovel & Luner.
