Cove Street Capital Appoints Director of Institutional Marketing and Client Service

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cove Street Capital (Cove Street) has hired Greg Farber, CIMA^® as Director of Institutional Marketing and Client Service, a new position for the firm, effective January 17, 2012. In this role, Farber will rely on his more than 15 years of industry experience to manage Cove Street’s institutional sales, marketing, consultant relations, and client service functions.

Prior to joining Cove Street, Farber was a managing director of business development for the Advisory Services Group at J.P. Morgan Securities, where he worked with financial advisers to provide asset allocation, investment selection, and ongoing monitoring to institutional clients, foundations, and high-net-worth investors. Previously, he held similar positions at Bear Stearns and Oppenheimer & Company, which he joined after beginning his career in financial services at A.G. Edwards & Sons.

Farber received a master’s of business administration degree from Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition, he holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA^®) designation and is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA).
