Evive Health Announces Record-Setting Growth in 2011; Total Number of Covered Lives Nationwide Tops 750,000

2011 Results Coupled with Fast Start in Q1 2012 Solidify Evive’s Position as One of the Nation’s Leaders in Health/Wellness Engagement Strategies

CHICAGO--()--Evive Health announced today that it achieved record-setting performance in 2011, based on new customer growth, revenue increase and the addition of 200,000 covered lives. With another 150,000 lives added in the first quarter of 2012 alone, total covered lives within Evive now surpasses 750,000 and is expected to exceed one million at year end.

Evive Health is a leading innovator in the design of personalized data-driven healthcare tools that make it easier for consumers to make better decisions regarding their care. These better decisions not only result in lower healthcare costs but have shown to have a positive impact on avoidance, early detection and management of illness and chronic conditions.

“We continue to receive tremendous market receptivity as employers increasingly understand the value of improving participation in their wellness programs and adherence to evidence-based care,” said Peter Saravis, CEO and co-founder of Evive. “Our easy-to-implement, research-based programs have proven to increase employee engagement by an average of 19 percent during the first year alone. By offering these programs at an affordable price, we are helping employers achieve their employee health and wellness goals more rapidly than they previously thought possible.”

As a result of growing national demand for effective health and wellness engagement tools, Evive Health added 14 large group customers in 2011, representing a 100 percent growth over 2010. In addition, 21 large groups are coming on board in first quarter 2012. Collectively the 2011 and early 2012 additions represent more than 350,000 Americans. Equally as important, Evive reported 100 percent retention of customers in 2011, with many adding expanded services as well.

In 2011 Evive also launched a new outreach tool designed to educate employees as to when to use an urgent care center, rather than a more-costly hospital emergency department, to treat common health issues such as sprains and flu or chronic issues such as allergies or asthma attacks. It is estimated that anywhere from 13.7 to 27.1 percent of all emergency department visits could take place at an alternative treatment site, such as urgent care, with a potential cost savings of more than $4 billion annually. According to research from Evive Health and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, education is a key factor in helping consumers make less-costly and more-practical choices in urgent health situations.

Founded in 2007, Evive Health is one of the nation’s leading innovators in corporate health and wellness engagement. By designing customized tools that use behavioral economics techniques to address employee barriers to good health and by automatically tracking and reporting on engagement results, Evive Health is helping employers better monitor health activities and lower healthcare costs.

In 2010, Evive was selected by the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center (CEC) as one of the region’s most promising and fastest-growing new companies. The center named Evive Health among its “CAP 20” ventures for its potential to reach $10M in sales and to provide well-paying, sustainable employment in the region. The “CAP 20” companies have the potential to be the new regional and national leaders in key industries in the decade to come.
