MIAMI--()--TuneUp Corporation today announced the availability of TuneUp Utilities Business Edition, a specialized version of the company’s award-winning PC optimization software. TuneUp Utilities Business Edition is designed to help small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), enterprises, government and non-profit organizations, and educational institutions alike reduce their system maintenance costs, extend their PCs’ lifecycles and increase productivity in the workplace.
The PC optimization software suite offers more than 30 tuning tools to improve any IT fleet. TuneUp Utilities Business Edition allows IT administrators to silently roll out the software to their company’s machines and gives them control over each individual feature in a single window, making system management easy.
Central to TuneUp’s business solution is the Automatic Maintenance feature, which routinely performs five key operations to ensure PCs’ health over time: repairing Windows registry errors, fixing the registry structure, cleaning up desktop and history lists, stopping temporary files from slowing system start and shutdown times, and preventing disk and registry fragmentation. The fully automated background maintenance can even be used on PCs with restricted user rights and can be configured by the administrator during silent installation without disrupting employees.
Additionally, TuneUp Utilities Business Edition includes TuneUp Live Optimization, an algorithm that keeps the focus on active programs at all times. This helps to speed up the programs employees are actually working with and helps prevent delays and performance lags, maximizing their productivity.
Other Key Software Features
- With a single click, TuneUp Economy Mode extends the battery life of notebooks, netbooks and tablet PCs by up to 30 percent compared to Windows 7’s energy-saving mode, as well as reduces desktop PC energy consumption. Employees can decide which resource-hungry devices or background activities they’d like to turn off to preserve power and reduce heat levels, increasing PCs’ and their hardware components’ life spans.
- TuneUp Program Deactivator allows users to select infrequently used programs to hibernate in order to conserve system resources, freeing up working memory and improving start-up and shutdown times. The feature significantly reduces the impact of installed third-party programs to a minimum by automatically enabling programs employees wish to use and putting the programs back into sleep mode when they are finished.
- Turbo Mode enables employees to shut down more than 70 background processes that slow down their Windows systems, and focuses all processor and memory power on active applications and programs—with a single click. Disabling these features will generate maximum performance for programs and Windows, and help employees see fewer system interruptions and be more productive while working.
- TuneUp Shredder is a wiping mechanism capable of completely destroying sensitive files rather than just deleting them using Windows Explorer. By using several algorithms and complying with data and security standards, TuneUp Shredder cleans out traces and temporary files, and renders confidential data, so that it’s unrecoverable. This is especially important before IT staff replace old PCs or hard disks.
