Nearbuy Systems Announces Availability of Cloud-Based Analytics for Retail Guest WiFi Networks

Solutions allow retailers to understand and engage multichannel shoppers within the brick-and-mortar store

MENLO PARK, Calif.--()--Nearbuy Systems, a leading provider of micro-location solutions for multichannel retailers, is making available a cloud-based guest WiFi analytics solution targeting retail customers. Mobile technology has dramatically changed the way people shop, as evidenced by dramatic increases in mobile shopping during the 2011 holiday season. From online product reviews to social media and content provided by manufacturers, an increasing number of shoppers are using the internet to facilitate smarter purchases - often via their smartphones. In response, many leading retailers are offering amenity- based WiFi solutions in their stores. These networks are more reliable, perform better, and are less expensive for the shopper than accessing carrier-provided networks.

With Nearbuy’s solution, shoppers complete a fast, one-time registration process through which they gain network access and opt-in to any advanced services or marketing programs the retailer provides. The cloud-based analytics solution delivers insights into network usage and overall shopper interests based on online behavior as it is tracked in the store. Nearbuy aggregates information on shopper browsing behavior such as top websites and applications accessed, search terms used, and more.
