Justice Antonin Scalia to Present Keynote Speech at WMACCA Annual Meeting

New WMACCA Officers and Board of Directors Also to Be Elected

WASHINGTON--()--The Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association (WMACCA) announced today that Antonin Scalia, associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, will deliver keynote remarks at the organization’s 2012 Annual Meeting and January Signature Luncheon on January 19. Justice Scalia will discuss the topic of Constitutional Interpretation.

WMACCA also will conduct its election of new officers and members of the board of directors.

Justice Scalia has served on the Supreme Court since 1986, when the Senate confirmed his nomination by President Ronald Reagan. He is currently the longest-serving justice on the Court. Prior to serving on the Supreme Court, Justice Scalia served the Nixon and Ford administrations in the early 1970s.

“A main goal of WMACCA is to present our members with unique opportunities to advance their professional development by hearing from government officials and leading practitioners on issues of significance to the legal and business communities. We are very honored to have Justice Scalia speak at our Annual Meeting,” said WMACCA President Stephen Dwyer, who will complete his term at the meeting.

WMACCA’s Annual Meeting and January Signature Luncheon will be held at The Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner in McLean, Virginia, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET on January 19.
