PSC Members Give Back with Help from JAMIS Software Corporation

ARLINGTON, Va.--()--The Professional Services Council (PSC) and JAMIS Software Corporation collected 145 pounds of food for the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) during PSC’s annual membership meeting on December 15.

AFAC, which serves an average of 1,600 families in need each week, has an acute need for donations during the holiday season because the number of families requiring assistance typically grows between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. This year, during Thanksgiving week alone, AFAC served more than 1,800 families comprising nearly 5,000 individuals. PSC chose AFAC because PSC’s employees are spending their annual day of service at AFAC’s warehouse to help bag groceries for AFAC customers.

Recognizing the growing need, PSC pledged to collect at least one food item or other necessity from every attendee at the annual members meeting. To encourage members to be even more generous, donors received raffle tickets for a chance to win an iPad furnished by JAMIS. The result was an outstanding 145 pounds of food collected for families in need this holiday season.

“AFAC does a wonderful job of supporting families all year, and this is one small way that we, as part of the Arlington community, can help our neighbors,” said PSC President and CEO Stan Soloway.

“The work AFAC does is vital, particularly during what can be a very difficult time of the year for many families,” said Jeff Noolas, President and CEO of JAMIS Software. “All of us at JAMIS extend our sincere thanks to AFAC for the important work they do in the Arlington community.”
