UIEvolution’s Software Platform “UIEngine for Automotive” Selected For DENSO “ARPEGGiO” In-vehicle Connected Infotainment Service

KIRKLAND, Wash. & TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UIEJapan, Inc and UIEvolution, Inc announce that the “UIEngine for Automotive” software solution is selected by DENSO Corporation for their new connected in-vehicle infotainment service “ARPEGGiO”. In addition, UIE Japan designed the ARPEGGiO user experience to promote the safe use of smartphone applications when driving by optimizing it for the unique requirements of the smartphone and car navigation systems.

ARPEGGiO is not just a system that displays the smartphone application on the navigation display. Powered by UIEngine for Automotive, the in-vehicle connected infotainment service optimizes the smartphone application and formats it in a way that's easier to use on the car navigation screen. In addition, to ensure safety, the system is designed to restrict the driver's operation of certain applications while driving.

At present, the in-vehicle connected infotainment service planned for the Japanese market includes:

Searching for locations and setting destinations
Playing music stored on smartphones and streaming Internet radio
Track vehicle fuel efficiency
Registering the vehicle's current location on social networking services (SNS), such as MIXI

UIEngine for Automotive, selected as the standard platform for “ARPEGGiO”, is a lightweight platform-independent software client and server software solution that scales to simultaneously support a rich GUI/HMI across the most popular smartphone OS’s (iOS, Android, Windows Mobile 7 & Blackberry) as well as embedded headunit platforms.
