Kindle Direct Publishing Now Available for the Amazon.it Kindle Store

Authors and publishers can now earn up to 70% royalty on sales to Kindle customers in Italy

LUXEMBOURG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--(NASDAQ:AMZN)—Amazon.it today announced that authors and publishers worldwide are now able to make their books available in the Amazon.it Kindle Store (www.amazon.it/kindle) using Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) (http://kdp.amazon.it). Authors and publishers can utilize the new Italian-language KDP website to make their books available in Italy and more than 100 countries worldwide, while continuing to own the rights to their books. The popular 70% royalty option, which allows independent authors and publishers to make more money on every book sold to Kindle customers in the US, UK, Germany, Austria, France and Spain, is now also available for books sold in Italy.

“Authors in many countries have already seen tremendous success with KDP and we’re excited to bring the program to Italian authors and publishers.”

Kindle Direct Publishing is a fast, free and easy way for authors and publishers to make their books available to Kindle customers in Italy and around the world via Kindle, and on free Kindle reading apps for iPad, iPod touch, iPhone, PC, Mac and Android-based devices. The new Italian-language KDP website is also a convenient way for Italian authors and publishers worldwide to publish their books to Kindle.

“Authors and publishers can now reach more readers by using Kindle Direct Publishing to make their books available to Italian customers in the new Amazon.it Kindle Store,” said Diego Piacentini, Senior Vice President, Amazon.com. “Authors in many countries have already seen tremendous success with KDP and we’re excited to bring the program to Italian authors and publishers.”

The Italian Kindle Store also launched today, offering customers the largest selection of Italian-language titles in digital with over 16,000 Italian-language Kindle books, a wide array of best sellers and hundreds of free Italian classics. In all, the new store offers customers over 900,000 titles—including thousands of global best sellers—in English and other languages.
