Big Fish Games® Launches Play Instantly! – The First Cloud Gaming Service for Mobile Devices

First Subscription Service for Games in the Apple App Store

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Big Fish Games, Inc. today announced Play Instantly!, a first-of-its-kind cloud gaming service for consumers that features dozens of premium casual games accessed via interactive video streaming. With Play Instantly!, Big Fish’s casual game catalog is run in the cloud and can be accessed initially on the iPad, and then rolling out on a variety of additional devices and platforms in 2012. This is both the first cloud gaming service for mobile devices and the first game subscription service available in Apple’s App Store.

Big Fish’s Play Instantly! cloud gaming service is available today through a free iPad app on Apple’s App Store. This new service features dozens of Big Fish’s premium casual games, with new games rolling out into the service each week. Big Fish anticipates increasing the Play Instantly! content to several hundred titles and expanding to Android, PC and Mac in 2012. The service is initially available for U.S. customers and will expand globally to reach a worldwide audience as Big Fish expands the reach of its private cloud network.

Big Fish’s Cloud Gaming Service: How It Works

With Big Fish’s Play Instantly!, anyone with a Wi-Fi internet connection can launch and begin playing any game in the catalog within seconds. The service is free for a limited time each day, or available as an unlimited, full-screen experience with access to all of the games in the service via a monthly subscription. As these games run in the cloud, Play Instantly! users can play games immediately with no additional download or installation process. Each player’s progress for each game is saved in the cloud, allowing them to pick up where they left off regardless of the device they are using. Players can jump into any game, exit out and later pick up where they left off on the same device they started on, or on any other supported device.
