Jeff Epstein, Former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Oracle, Joins Bessemer Venture Partners as an Executive in Residence

MENLO PARK, Calif.--()--Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP), a global investment firm, today announced that Jeff Epstein has joined the firm as an executive in residence (EIR). He most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Oracle, one of the world’s largest and most profitable technology companies, with a market value of over $150 billion. Earlier, Mr. Epstein was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of DoubleClick, as it grew from 180 to over 2,000 employees. As an EIR with BVP, Mr. Epstein will be working with the investment team to evaluate a broad range of opportunities in areas including cloud computing, internet advertising technology, and consumer internet. He will also assist BVP portfolio companies with strategic initiatives, planning, and operational excellence.

Prior to joining Oracle, Epstein served as Chief Financial Officer of several public and private companies, including DoubleClick (sold to Google), King World Productions (sold to CBS) and Nielsen’s Media Measurement and Information Group. Earlier in his career, he was a merger and acquisition investment banker at The First Boston Corporation.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of Priceline.com, where he serves on the Audit and Compensation Committees, a member of the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Stanford University Hospital, and serves on the Management Board of the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Mr. Epstein holds an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and a BA from Yale College, where he graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa.
