Big Data Leaders Join Forces, Certify Solutions, and Deliver Fast-Start Environment to Facilitate Big Data Intelligence on Hadoop

As part of the alliance, Karmasphere has validated that its products are compatible with the latest version of Cloudera’s Distribution including Apache Hadoop (CDH). Karmasphere joins a select group of companies that qualify as Cloudera Certified Technology providers, testing and validating that Karmasphere Analyst and Karmasphere Studio use supported APIs and comply with Cloudera development guidelines for integration with Apache Hadoop. Moreover, Karmasphere has also joined the recently launched Cloudera Connect Partner Program.

A visible outcome of the partnership is Karmasphere’s fast start development environment for CDH. This free offering comprises a pre-loaded, self-contained virtual appliance (VA) that includes products from both companies to let developers start creating Big Data MapReduce jobs and deploying them quickly to Hadoop. The VA hosts on Linux, Windows and MacOS systems and includes Karmasphere Studio Community and CDH hosted inside the VA on Ubuntu Linux. Karmasphere is demonstrating the VA this week at Cloudera-sponsored Hadoop World 2011 in New York.
