With a combination of a versatile design and advanced image-quality functions, the DR-M140 scanner is a reliable solution that can help reduce paperwork and improve workflows for legal, medical, government and financial employees who are challenged daily with overwhelming amounts of paperwork.
From invoices to letters, contracts to electrocardiogram (EKG) strips, those in “paper-based businesses” require a flexible document capture system that helps ensure efficient information management.* In a compact package, the DR-140 scanner incorporates advanced capabilities to address widespread needs, such as its two feeding paths. The default U-turn path is used for typical jobs, while the straight path can be selected to handle items such as thick or thin documents, long documents, and embossed plastic cards. This out-of-the-box design makes it ideal for space-constrained office environments in any industry.

The performance-driven DR-M140 scanner can process up to 6,000 scanned documents per day. The scanner maintains speeds up to 40 pages-per-minute1 /80 images per minute 1 in all modes, including color, and holds up to 50 sheets in the Automatic Document Feeder. For convenience, the DR-M140 has front loading and front eject that allows users to easily scan documents without a lengthy tray. The scanner also incorporates a control panel that enables easy access to pre-programmed scanning tasks, and a Double Feed Release button on the scanner body to allow users to handle special documents such as envelopes.
Maximizing image quality, the Canon DR-M140 scanner incorporates features such as Character Emphasis to help improve the legibility of hard-to-capture documents and Auto Resolution setting to automatically adjust the resolution to improve clarity of the image. The DR-M140 has improved gradation levels and capabilities such as Background Smoothing and Shadow Cropping for reliable and accurate scanning for superb output.
The DR-M140 scanner comes with a suite of software applications. Canon’s CaptureOnTouch helps simplify scanning tasks, and improved CapturePerfect delivers advanced image processing features, while both can scan to cloud applications2 such as Microsoft® SharePoint®. The DR-M140 scanner is also bundled with ISIS®/TWAIN drivers for easy integration with third-party capture or content management systems.
The new imageFORMULA DR-M140 document scanner is available immediately through all authorized Canon resellers for a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1,195.3 And for investment protection, eCarePAK options are available from Canon. eCarePAK extends service beyond the initial one-year limited warranty period, saving on costs associated with post-purchase maintenance and maximizing uptime throughout the product life.4
