FX’s SONS OF ANARCHY Debuts First-Ever Interactive Shopping App for Apple iPad®

Second screen app lets fans shop for exclusive show and licensed merchandise while watching Sons of Anarchy in real-time or on Blu-ray

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FX and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment announced today the first-ever second screen interactive shopping app called “SOA Gear” set to launch on November 1, 2011. The app delivers a themed entertainment experience that Sons of Anarchy fans will love with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, unique products and licensed merchandise, as well as jewelry and clothing worn by cast members on the show. Compatible with Apple’s iPad, the app launches on November 1^st to coincide with the airing of Sons of Anarchy episode 9. The FX Sons of Anarchy Season 3 Blu-ray, now available in-stores everywhere, is also compatible with the “SOA Gear” app.

The “SOA Gear” App for Sons of Anarchy on Blu-ray

Using BD-Live, the Sons of Anarchy Season 3 Blu-ray Disc automatically syncs with the “SOA Gear” app for full control and navigation of the show on the Apple iPad. Fans can click on unique merchandise and products from the show, and the Blu-ray Disc automatically highlights the item for purchase.

Starring Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman and Golden Globe® Award winner Katey Sagal, Sons of Anarchy is having its best season yet from a ratings standpoint. It’s currently the #1 scripted drama series in all of basic cable, and is the highest-rated series ever on FX. On a first-run basis, season four is averaging 5.8 million Total Viewers and 3.9 million Adults 18-49, increases of +30% and +26%, respectively, vs. season three. On a multi-telecast weekly basis, season four is averaging 9 million Total Viewers and 6 million Adults 18-49.
