BERWYN, Pa.--()--Yajun (Alex) Zeng has been named quantitative analyst at Turner Investments, an employee-owned investment-management firm.
In this position, Mr. Zeng, 29, creates tools for Turner’s domestic and global quantitative models and provides technical analysis on individual stocks and market sectors for all of the firm’s portfolios.
Based in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, Turner Investments was founded in 1990 and offers growth, global/international, long/short, core, and quantitative investments in stocks to both institutions and individuals. Turner manages more than $12 billion in assets, as of September 30, 2011.
Mr. Zeng becomes the fourth member of the Quantitative Investments Team, reporting to David Kovacs, chief investment officer, quantitative strategies. In addition to managing quantitative portfolios, the team makes program trades, monitors risk, creates statistically-based models for existing and new investments, and conducts attribution analysis.
Previously, Mr. Zeng had been working for Turner as a contract employee.
A candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, he earned a doctorate in project management from the University of Maryland in 2010. He earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering in 2004 and a master of science degree in engineering in 2006 from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
Mr. Zeng lives in Paoli, Pennsylvania.
