BLOOMFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cigna (NYSE:CI) has launched a free monthly drug and alcohol awareness series. These seminars will help people better understand the physical, mental and emotional signs of individuals who may be dealing with substance abuse, with an emphasis on child and teen substance abuse.
Registration isn’t required and people can listen to the entire series or any individual seminar. Each seminar features an expert who will speak for about 45 minutes followed by a question and answer session. Playback of each seminar will be available for those unable to listen live.
Each seminar begins at noon Eastern time and can be accessed in the U.S. and Canada by calling toll-free 1.866.431.5314. Enter passcode 602873 when prompted.
Schedule for the next three sessions:
- Oct. 19: “What to Do if You Think or Know Your Child Is Using Drugs or Alcohol.” Guest presenter: Fred Muench, Ph.D., Director of Research, The Partnership at Drugfree.org.
- Nov. 16: “Understanding the Developing Teen Brain.” Guest presenter: Ken Winters, Ph.D., Professor, Dept. of Psychiatry and Director, Center for Adolescent Substance Abuse Research, University of Minnesota.
- Dec. 21: “Helping Your Kids Avoid Drugs and Alcohol.” Guest presenter: Ameila Arria, Ph.D., Director, Center on Young Adult Health and Development, University of Maryland.
