SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--Keynote Competitive Research, the industry analysis group of Keynote Systems (NASDAQ:KEYN), announces that it is the exclusive mobile performance data provider for Internet Retailer’s 2012 Mobile Commerce Top 300, which for the first time ranks the leaders in the retail, ticket and travel industries based on their annual mobile commerce sales for 2011.

This exclusive mobile performance data partnership between Keynote and Internet Retailer first developed in September of 2010 to deliver weekly competitive data on 30 commerce websites as experienced on popular smartphones, publishing average download time and site availability through Keynote’s Mobile Commerce Performance Index.

“As smartphones and tablets become an everyday tool for consumers, there is increasing focus on delivering high quality user experiences across all popular mobile devices,” said Bill Siwicki, managing editor, Mobile Commerce at Internet Retailer. “Understanding the performance standards and the tools available to improve are essential for companies looking to grow their mobile business. With the 2012 Mobile Commerce Top 300, we are setting a bar for the industry and providing details that commerce websites need to stay competitive as mobile becomes prevalent.”

Performance Methodology for the 2012 Mobile Commerce Top 300

The Mobile Commerce Top 300 features data developed and measured exclusively by Keynote on the speed, availability and consistency of leading mobile commerce sites. The data was collected over one week using Keynote’s commercially available mobile monitoring service, Mobile Web Perspective™ (MWP), from two locations, New York and San Francisco. Keynote monitored the websites’ homepage URLs from the iPhone 4 and the Motorola Droid X, covering two leading carriers (AT&T and Verizon) and operating systems (iOS and Android).
