PITTSBURGH--()--Dennis L. Astorino Architecture and Interior Design (DLA+) announced today that the firm has acquired Haupt Group LLC and named new principals.
“The acquisition and integration of our practices is in response the rapid growth of both firms, as well as a natural progression of DLA+’s successful partnerships with Haupt Group”
DLA+’s acquisition of Haupt Group LLC reunites two of the region’s leading architects who previously worked together for more than a decade at a prior firm. Dennis L. Astorino, AIA will continue to serve as CEO and an owner of the firm. Christopher Haupt, formerly principal and owner of Haupt Group LLC, has joined DLA+ as principal and owner. Three current DLA+ employees, who have also worked with Mr. Haupt in the past, have been named principals and owners: Joseph M. Sepcic, AIA, Nick Doichev, AIA and Jennifer M. Pavlik, NCIDQ. The acquisition brings the total number of employees at DLA+ to 15.
“The acquisition and integration of our practices is in response the rapid growth of both firms, as well as a natural progression of DLA+’s successful partnerships with Haupt Group,” said Dennis L. Astorino. “Over the years, Chris and I have worked together on several significant projects in Pittsburgh for major corporations, healthcare institutions, universities/colleges and professional sports franchises. His talent, experience and leadership, combined with that of our current staff members who are now principals, positions DLA+ for significant growth opportunities. The elevation of our current staff members to principal status reflects their commitment and contribution to DLA+'s significant growth over the past three years.”
“Along with a shared commitment to delivering exceptional creative design, superior project management and an enjoyable client experience, our similar growth strategies created the right environment for the acquisition,” said Christopher Haupt. “Both of our companies reflect an emerging trend of smaller to mid-sized firms that have been very successful – in spite of a down economy – because we offer deep experience, yet with the flexibility to adapt to a range of clients’ changing needs.”
DLA+ clients will now benefit from enhanced service offerings in sports facility design, program management and the Haupt Group’s Strategic ArchitectureSM process. Existing Haupt Group clients will benefit from the combined experience of the principals and staff at DLA+, along with enhanced firm resources and capabilities.
Current DLA+ clients include major universities, professional sports franchises, regional developers, commercial property owners, and regional medical institutions as well as an international healthcare client. The Haupt Group acquisition adds several recent and current clients including a major university athletic department, multiple financial institutions, local developers / commercial property owners and private clients. DLA+ will continue to focus on regional projects in the healthcare, corporate, commercial, religious and educational markets and national projects in sports facility design. The firm offers services in Architecture, Interior Design, Planning, Program Management and Consulting.
