PALO ALTO, Calif.--()--Today at f8, Facebook’s developer conference, Payvment announced new social commerce integration built on Facebook Platform. Payvment’s integration takes advantage of Facebook’s new features that will soon allow developers to customize the actions within their app and the News Feed story generated by each action. This new functionality will also be used to fuel “Wish Lists” on shoppers’ profiles that Payvment will begin offering in the coming weeks.

Payvment’s integration will offer sellers a dramatic increase in visibility for the products that shoppers want, own and like and will make the News Feed experience more relevant and meaningful for shoppers and their friends. For example, if a user clicks the Payvment “Want” button, the resulting News Feed Story would read, “Jane wants a Falling Waters Mini Fountain at the Shopping Mall on Facebook.” This also enables conversations and comments made on Payvment to be customized to drive more social discovery, such as “Jim reviewed” or “Jane loved” a particular product.

Payvment also announced today that it will be introducing Wish Lists for shoppers to add to their Facebook profiles in the coming weeks. When Payvment shoppers click on “Want” on a product, the Wish List item will be featured on their profile. Payvment plans to further customize this feature to enable creation of wedding and baby registries, holiday and birthday wish lists and more.

“Facebook’s new features have enabled us to build a social commerce experience that is more relevant for shoppers and offers more effective social discovery for sellers,” said Christian Taylor, founder and CEO of Payvment. “The new ability for users to add Wish Lists to their profiles will also make engagement around products much more ‘sticky’, as clicking on ‘Want’ will not only post a story to a shoppers’ News Feed, but also populate a Wish List module on their profile where friends can see it any time. These new features will deliver a dramatic increase in visibility for sellers and open the door for Payvment to develop powerful new functionality in the months to come.”

Payvment’s storefront app on Facebook allows anyone – from a weekend crafter to a major retailer – to promote and sell his or her products on their Facebook Page. Since launching in 2009, Payvment has attracted over 100,000 sellers and has become the most popular ecommerce app on Facebook.

“We’re honored to be part of the f8 announcements, as it underscores Payvment’s continued leadership in creating and evolving the emerging Facebook commerce category,” added Taylor.
