About Annette Verschuren
An inductee into Canada’s Marketing Hall of Legends, Annette Verschuren brings renowned leadership, insight and a unique global vision to Icynene’s Board of Directors. From 1996 to 2006, she was President, The Home Depot of Canada where she oversaw the company’s growth from 19 Canadian stores to 179 stores. From 2006 to 2011, as President, The Home Depot of Canada and China, she also led the company’s expansion into Asia.
In addition to her experience in the building products category, Annette plays an active role in nurturing tomorrow’s leaders in environmental and technological development. As the current chancellor of Cape Breton University in Nova Scotia she has been a driving force in creating the school’s Centre for Sustainability in Energy & Environment, which helps students create environmental, commercial and technological solutions needed locally and across the globe.
She is also the chair of the 2012 Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference and has served as a member of Canada’s Finance Minister Jim Flaherty’s economic advisory council.
About Ben Gadbois
Ben Gadbois is currently the Global President Markers, Highlighters, Art and N.A. Office Essentials for Newell Rubbermaid, which includes the Sharpie, Expo, Prismacolor and Rolodex brands.
Prior to this role, he was the Global President for Rubbermaid Home Products business, which included leading the garage and home-organizing products that have helped builders and contractors expand their product and service portfolios.
Ben was also instrumental in launching a unique partnership with pioneering upcycling company TerraCycle™ to create the world's first program that collects and reuses pens, markers and other writing instruments while also helping raise funds for schools, charities and non-profit organizations.
Previous to these roles, Ben lived in Europe where he was the President of Rubbermaid, Pyrex, Graco, Little Tikes for Europe/Middle East/Africa.
As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) he also brings to the Icynene Board of Directors a strong background in financial management and analysis.
