Charles Fazio, M.D. Named Chief Medical Officer for Gestalt Health

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jeff Fritz, CEO of Gestalt Health, announced today that Charles Fazio, M.D. has been appointed Chief Medical Officer for the organization. Gestalt Health is an independent, next generation health IT services company that delivers real time healthcare information to its partners within the healthcare community. Dr. Fazio joined Gestalt Health this month to provide leadership and subject matter expertise. Dr. Fazio has more than three decades of experience in the healthcare industry and is a highly respected member of both the physicians’ and health plan communities.

Dr. Fazio most recently served as the Chief Medical Officer and senior vice president at Medica Health Plans in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prior to working at Medica, Dr. Fazio practiced at a succession of clinics and medical centers as a medical director, staff physician and emergency room physician. He holds both undergraduate and medical degrees from Georgetown University and earned a Masters degree in Administrative Medicine from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1990. In 2007, Dr. Fazio served on the Minnesota Governor’s Task Force on Health Care Transformation. In 2009, he co-chaired the Minnesota task force on Provider Peer Group Measurement.
