KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--()--EnerNex is proud to announce its sponsorship and leadership role at GridWeek as the industry’s top 200 speakers tackle the most relevant Smart Grid subjects in Washington, D.C., September 12-15. The GridWeek conference is one of the most globally recognized Smart Grid gatherings for utility leaders and change agents in the industry.
As a member of the GridWeek organizing committee, EnerNex will be kicking off the week by leading the Smart Grid Primer. Aaron Snyder, Doug Houseman, and Erich Gunther will be teaching core grid infrastructure concepts, architectural principles, and other aspects of the power system, enabling new entrants to the Smart Grid community to extract the most value from the rest of the conference.
Gunther, EnerNex Chairman and Chief Technology Officer, will be acting as one of several facilitators during the Consumer Symposium -“Innovations in Energy Literacy” session- a moderated panel discussion that focuses on how improving energy literacy among consumers requires co-creation and active listening as well as the sharing of information. Gunther will also be participating in Tuesday's opening plenary “Looking Forward Roundtable” where he will address issues associated with the pervasive deployment, impacts, and evolution of highly distributed generation.
On Wednesday, Gunther will be leading the Information Management track which will cover the multitude of issues related to effective management of the information required for system operations and generated by existing, new and future grid devices and applications.
Bob Zavadil, Executive Vice President of Power Systems Consulting, will be featured on Thursday’s panel session “Integrating Renewables and DER” focusing on the unique challenges of integrating bulk connected wind and other variable resources to grid infrastructure and how that infrastructure must evolve to better support them.
In reference to the company’s involvement in the conference, Gunther stated: “EnerNex is pleased to continue its significant supporting role in the organization and implementation of this key industry conference on the power grid. It is an opportunity for a large stakeholder community to come together and keep the momentum going on modernizing something so vital to our nation's economy and way of life.”
EnerNex is also an exhibitor at the conference; visit booth #306 for more information about the company and its GridWeek involvement.
