SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--SoundHound, the revolutionary sound search company, today announced it is joining forces with award-winning digital music service Spotify to enable both free and paid SoundHound users in Europe to instantly access Spotify’s catalogue of over 15 million tracks. Spotify’s Premium subscribers can now take advantage of SoundHound’s best-in-class music search and discovery features, including its blazing fast music recognition and unique sing and hum recognition.
“Spotify is a natural fit with SoundHound, the most groundbreaking mobile music search and discovery platform in the world”
Starting today, SoundHound users on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices who also subscribe to Spotify Premium in Europe will be given the option to ‘Play Now in Spotify’ after identifying a song through SoundHound. If the user chooses the option, SoundHound will then seamlessly launch Spotify’s service, immediately playing the requested song while showcasing the requested artist’s singles, albums and compilations.
SoundHound users in Europe who are not existing Spotify Premium subscribers will be able to click the ‘Play Now in Spotify’ link to visit a page inviting them to become Spotify users before proceeding to listen to the song. Spotify Premium users who do not have SoundHound can download it for free from the iTunes App Store or Android Market.
