LP to curtail OSB press production at Dawson Creek, B.C., facility; LP TechShield® production to continue at Dawson

LP plans continued sales and support of full range of value-added OSB products for customers in the West

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (LP) announced today that its Dawson Creek, B.C., mill will curtail press production of oriented strand board (OSB) beginning Aug. 25. The mill will continue to manufacture LP TechShield® Radiant Barrier Sheathing to support its customers’ needs in West Coast markets.

LP will continue to use its strong manufacturing footprint to maintain its position as the premier supplier of the full range of value-added OSB products. These products include LP TechShield Radiant Barrier Sheathing, the family of LP TopNotch® OSB Sub-Flooring, and LP FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing, all of which are highly demanded by builders in all markets.

The Dawson Creek OSB mill was constructed in 1987 and currently employs 114 people. After winterization and preparations for press shutdown are completed, about 26 employees will be retained to operate the TechShield Radiant Barrier line, and maintain the plant and equipment.
