Equities Veteran John Barone Joins Firm

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cheevers & Company, Inc., an agency-only brokerage providing execution services for a diverse range of institutional clients and asset managers in both domestic and international equities, today announced the addition of John Barone to their trading desk. As the Vice President of Institutional Sales and Trading, Mr. Barone will lead the trading execution, sales and client service efforts of the firm’s trading desk.

Bringing Mr. Barone on board is the latest in a series of moves by Cheevers & Company that expands their trading expertise and services. In early June, Cheevers & Company announced a new corporate buyback capability. Last month, they released their quarterly trade execution metrics to help clients better understand their execution quality.

Mr. Barone brings over 20 years of securities and sales experience to Cheevers & Company. He previously served as Director of Equity Sales & Trading at Melvin & Company. Prior to his time at Melvin, he was a Principal and Equity Trader at William Blair & Company. Mr. Barone was also at Chicago Corp. for eight years and spent five years as an options trader on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange.

Mr. Barone has served as President of the Security Traders Association of Chicago and on the Board of Governors of the National Security Trader Association.
