NAPERVILLE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today Nicor Electric announced electricity prices that are 14 percent lower than what ComEd residential customers are currently paying.

The new offer is a result of the recently announced licensing agreement between Nicor Advanced Energy, LLC, and Dominion Retail, a leading energy supplier. Under the agreement, Dominion Retail is marketing electricity to ComEd’s 3.4 million residential customers and supplying the electricity under the Nicor Electric name, and Nicor Advanced Energy is providing sales support through its industry leading call center.

The electric market in Illinois has been open to competition for several years, but it’s only recently that new suppliers have decided to enter the market due to improvements in electric utilities’ billing and collection services for other electric providers.
