West Virginia Launches New Online Contribution Reporting System for Employers

CHARLESTON, W.Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--West Virginia employers have a new online tool to file unemployment insurance quarterly wage and contribution reports. The Online Contribution Reporting system allows users to log in to a secure website and file wage reports, make payments, and maintain employee records. The system is accessible through the WorkForce West Virginia web site at www.workforcewv.org.

“We’re committed to improving efficiency and convenience of reporting for state employers,” said Governor Earl Ray Tomblin. “We want to make it easier for employers to file.”

Once registered to use the system, employers enter wage information for each employee. Unlike the paper method of filing, the employee information is securely stored for the next filing period so only updates will be required each quarter. Employers currently using Wage Reporter can continue using the software to produce a file to be uploaded to the new online system.

The Online Contribution Reporting system calculates many of the reported values for employers. If a contribution is due, payment can be made by electronic check.

“The software contains tools that will reduce calculation errors,” said Russell Fry, acting executive director for WorkForce West Virginia. “This will save both time and money for our agency and for employers.”
