PERDIDO KEY, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The 2011 Perdido Key Beach Volleyball Tournament will bring beach volleyball action to the Gulf Coast August 20-21, where players will converge on the award-winning white beaches of Perdido Key, Fla. behind the world-famous Flora-Bama to compete for a total purse of more than $2000.
Events include men's and women's divisions on Saturday, Aug. 20 and co-ed and recreational divisions Sunday, Aug. 21. Sponsors will host player's parties at local night spots on Friday and Saturday evenings. And as an added incentive, players can earn up to $300 in American Express gift cards when they stay in Perdido Key accommodations.
Tournament director Mike Minich also organizes Emerald Coast Volleyball Week, an event that draws more than 1000 competitors from all 50 states to the Gulf Coast. During his career Minich served as Field of Play Supervisor for the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996 and Field of Play Marshall for the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece in 2004.
