Digital Sales Increase Over 25% at Musicnotes.com in First Half of 2011; Site Sells 10 Millionth Download

MADISON, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Musicnotes.com, the worldwide leader in downloadable sheet music, announced today that sales of digital sheet music at the Musicnotes.com website increased by 27% in the first half of 2011. In addition, on June 27^th the company sold its 10 millionth download since the launch of Musicnotes site’s initial site in 1999.

Growth in 2011 has accelerated modestly from the 25% growth recorded in 2010 and sales have benefited through the addition of great new music from artists like Adele, Laura Story, Christina Perri and the hit TV series “Glee.” In addition, Musicnotes’ free iPad app has been downloaded over 100,000 times since being introduced in 2010, providing customers the mobile access to their sheet music libraries they increasingly desire.

Musicnotes, Inc. estimates total sales should approach $15 million in 2011 while royalty payments to publishers and songwriters should exceed $5 million. The company is targeting significant site enhancements to be rolled out between now and early 2012.
