DENVER--()--Twelve outstanding students pursuing a degree or career in the natural gas industry are recipients of this year’s DCP Midstream Career and Technical Scholarship. They will each receive $1,500 for their full-time studies at an accredited two-year college or technical institution of their choice.

The 2011 recipients in the DCP Midstream Career and Technical Scholarship Program are:
Levi Adams, studying electricity and instrumentation at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kan. Levi is the son of Jill and Keith Adams who recently graduated from Liberal Senior High School.
Jared Cook, studying electricity and instrumentation at Eastern Oklahoma State University in Wilburton, Okla. Jared is the son of Denise and Charles Cook.
Steve Davis, studying compression at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, Okla. Steve is a 1996 graduate of Henryetta High School and lives in Weleetka, Okla., with his wife Amanda and their two daughters, Morgan and Rilee.
Thomas Erwin, studying diesel power and heavy equipment at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, Okla. Thomas graduated from North Lamar High School and is the son of Stacey and Rebecca Erwin.
Randy Gill, studying plant operations at Panola College in Carthage, Texas. Randy graduated from Beckville High School in Texas and is the son of Gina and Larry Gill Jr.
Slayton Hrncir, studying industrial maintenance at Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas. He is a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and son of Beverly and Billy Hrncir.
Cody McCullars, studying gas technology at Panola College in Carthage, Texas. Cody graduated from Beckville High School and is the son of Angela Hays and Matthew McCullars.
Kyle Rother, studying electricity and instrumentation at Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas. Kyle graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School and is the son of Janice Rother and Alan Rother.
Christy Spradlin, studying electricity and instrumentation at Texas State Technical College in Marshall, Texas. Christy graduated from Marshall High School and is the daughter of Pauline and Donald Linville.
Orville Taylor, studying diesel power and heavy equipment at Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas. Orville is a graduate of Grandview High School and the son of Orville Lee Taylor and the late Alice Fay Taylor.
Clint Teinert, studying diesel power and heavy equipment at Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas. Cline graduated from Giddings High School and is the son of Lisa and Glen Teinert.
David Trombley, studying robotics at Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas. David graduated from Duncanville High School and is the son of Mary and Michael Trombley.
All scholarship winners must be pursuing an associate degree or career-technical certification related to the natural gas industry such as, but not limited to: machine tool technology; diesel power and heavy equipment technology; plant operations; gas technology; industrial electricity; compression; electrical and instrumentation; industrial maintenance; mechanic; and welding.
Scholarships are renewable up for one additional year and are awarded on academic achievement, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and future aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.
