TAMPA, Fla. & SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Optimum Path Systems, Inc. today announced the integration of Visual Data Center Enterprise Edition and Intel’s Data Center Manager (DCM) solution. The integrated solution provides unmatched visibility and management of the space, power, and environmental conditions in the data center from the facility wide level down to the individual rack and IT device level.
The combined solution allows users to auto discover devices, create a 3D model of the facility, and capture real time performance data for power consumption, energy costs and environmental conditions. This information enables improved centralized planning and decision making related to overall space, power, cooling and capacity for both IT and facility devices in the data center.
Visual Data Center Enterprise Edition is a centralized Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) application designed to monitor, normalize and display data from IT and facility equipment and/or third party management systems like Intel’s DCM solution. With Visual Data Center, critical IT and facility performance and energy data can be visualized, benchmarked, tracked and transformed into usable metrics to support the drive for improved capacity management and operational efficiency in the data center.
Intel Data Center Manager (DCM) www.datacentermanager.intel.com provides power and thermal data along with control functions for servers and Rackmount PDU devices. Through the utilization of DCM, users are able to enhance power and cooling capacity management, increase rack density through active power control policies, identify underutilized servers and support business continuity goals by eliminating failures due to power or thermal issues.
“The integration of the Intel DCM solution to Visual Data Center significantly enhances the ability of our software to provide detailed power consumption and cost information. Leveraging Intel’s relationships with large industry manufacturers and their ability to collect information from IT devices gives the combined solution full insight to power, energy and cost metrics for all critical facility and IT devices in data center environments,” said Steven Webel, COO of Optimum Path Systems.
“Intel Data Center Manager data combined with Visual Data Center’s infrastructure management helps customers make better use of their Intel server investment while ensuring maximum performance and power efficiency,” said Jeff Klaus, director of Data Center Solutions, Software and Services Division at Intel.
