BERWYN, Pa.--()--Kevin Sun has been named quantitative research analyst/quantitative portfolio manager at Turner Investments, an employee-owned investment-management firm.
In his position, Mr. Sun, 33, creates screens of Turner’s domestic and global quantitative models and helps manage quantitative portfolios. He also provides technical analysis on individual stocks and market sectors, and develops and maintains a global asset-allocation tool. Based in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, Turner Investments was founded in 1990 and offers growth, global/international, long/short, core, and quantitative investments in stocks to both institutions and individuals. Turner manages more than $18 billion in assets, as of March 31, 2011.
Mr. Sun becomes the fourth member of the Quantitative Investments Team, reporting to David Kovacs, chief investment officer, quantitative strategies. In addition to managing quantitative portfolios, the team makes program trades, monitors risk, creates statistically-based models for existing/new investments, and conducts attribution analysis.
Previously, Mr. Sun served as vice president and senior quantitative analyst at AllianceBernstein.
Mr. Sun earned a doctorate in accounting at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2005, and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Shanghai University in 1999. He plans to relocate to the Philadelphia area from Jersey City, New Jersey.
