ScaleXtreme Announces New Cloud Provisioning and Management for Amazon EC2

Integrated Cloud Management product manages full machine lifecycle

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ScaleXtreme, Inc., a leading cloud-based systems management company, today announced the immediate availability of new cloud provisioning and management functionality, offering customers a comprehensive cloud management solution that can provision and manage the lifecycle of servers on Amazon EC2, as well as on-premise virtualized environments, and other hosting providers. ScaleXtreme goes beyond simply providing the ability to provision instances from pre-existing Amazon Machine Images (AMIs). This unique approach enables both provisioning of new machines across Amazon EC2, and gives customers the ability to maintain those machines throughout the machines’ lifecycle. The ScaleXtreme product includes features such as the ability to “live browse” the filesystem, registry, installed applications on the system, as well as advanced task automation. Also included is an integrated, version-controlled script “Library” as well as marketplace for community scripts that allow teams of IT admins to host their scripts in the cloud and run them easily across their cloud systems. Amazon EC2 machines can also be managed alongside customer’s internal physical and virtual machines, as well as server workloads running in other hosted environments.
