Citizant First to Achieve CMMI Appraisal for Both IT Services and Application Development Under Newest SCAMPI Guidelines

Fast-growing government solutions leader adds CMMI-SVC ML2 to CMMI-DEV ML3 credentials, raises the bar for quality on complex federal programs

CHANTILLY, Va.--()--Citizant, a leading provider of full life cycle information technology solutions to the federal government, announced today it has successfully achieved a quality standards rating from the Software Engineering Institute for Capability Maturity Model ® Integration for Development Maturity Level 3 and Services Maturity Level 2.

“The heat is on for government executives to produce program results under tight budgets and timelines, and they know that contractors with strong CMMI credentials are most likely to produce the desired outcomes,” said Jeffrey Beyer, senior vice president of operations at Citizant. “Citizant’s success on simultaneous CMMI-DEV 3 and CMMI-SVC 2 appraisals should inspire confidence in our rigorous quality practices that lead to predictable program success, even on the most complex programs.”

Citizant went through a Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPISM) Class A appraisal, which was conducted under the new SCAMPI v1.3 guidelines. Citizant is the first company to use SCAMPI 1.3 for a multimodel appraisal, joining only a handful of government service providers offering both CMMI-DEV and CMMI-SVC within the same business unit. CMMI-SVC demonstrates a broader organizational capability across a range of IT services, whereas the popular ITIL certification covers individual employees and traditionally applies only to IT help desk-related services.

“This appraisal highlighted several achievements in Citizant’s internal controls that ensure continued alignment with evolving customer needs for assured quality in complex, hybrid IT efforts,” said Collette Dziemian, vice president of quality programs at Citizant. “We believe that federal agencies will increasingly demand companywide CMMI appraisals in service delivery, not just in application development processes. Citizant is committed to following industry best practices in all aspects of solution delivery.”

The Citizant Quality Team is collaborating with the SEI, customers and partners to share key multimodel SCAMPI 1.3 appraisal process insights. Citizant plans to present these results at upcoming industry conferences and via professional networks.

Citizant recently was selected as a large prime contractor on both the U.S. Treasury’s TIPSS-4 ITS contract valued at $6 billion and the Department of Justice’s new Information Technology Support Services-4 contract valued at $1.1 billion.
