DAINTREE NETWORKS EXPANDS NEXT-GENERATION WIRELESS LIGHTING CONTROLS WITH CONTROLSCOPE 2.0

Updated Solution Maximizes Energy Savings with Enhanced Demand Response, Multi-facility Management, Interoperability and User Functionality

Daintree Networks, Inc., a leading provider of innovative wireless lighting control solutions for energy-smart buildings, today announced ControlScope 2.0, the next generation of Daintree Networks’ revolutionary wireless control platform. A robust, scalable and cost-effective solution for reducing energy costs in commercial buildings, ControlScope 2.0 expands upon Daintree’s innovative ControlScope platform with enhanced capabilities including automated demand response, seamless multi-facility management, broadened interoperability with third-party lighting component manufacturers and building management protocols, as well as improvements to the user interface software for broader and more granular control.

“The industry response to ControlScope has been overwhelming, and our growing list of customers and partners have both confirmed our open-standards, interoperable approach, and driven us to continue innovating,” said Danny Yu, CEO of Daintree Networks. “ControlScope 2.0 maintains Daintree’s position at the forefront of intelligent building innovation, alleviating ever-increasing energy demands while providing new features and a better user experience.”

“The market for intelligent lighting control solutions is growing quickly, and innovators are closing the gap between the desire for energy efficiency and the needs of customers for easy-to-install, cost-effective solutions,” said Josh Gould, Director, Research and Advisory, Cleantech Group. “Companies like Daintree Networks are providing new capabilities such as OpenADR, wireless control and interoperability, enabling large commercial buildings to better analyze, control and ultimately reduce their energy usage.”

Launched in September 2010, ControlScope is Daintree Networks’ wireless platform for intelligent lighting controls, and is the industry’s only standards-based, interoperable solution. Consisting of both software and networking hardware, ControlScope allows commercial buildings to become smarter and more energy-efficient than ever before, enabling powerful centralized control over lighting with drastically lower complexity and cost than hard-wired solutions. With this new version of the system, ControlScope adds powerful new features that meet the needs of large commercial offices, warehouses, campuses, and multi-facility branch locations.

Key upgrades and new features of the Daintree Networks ControlScope 2.0 platform include:

  • Enhanced Multi-facility Management: Through ControlScope, facilities around the country and world are controlled through a central interface, giving facility management enterprise-level command and visibility into lighting energy usage.
  • Support for BACnet Integration: An international data communication protocol for building automation and control networks, forthcoming BACnet capability positions ControlScope installations to integrate with other automated building controls and systems.
  • Next-Generation Wireless Area Controller (WAC): The new and improved WAC50 provides more powerful wireless control for larger and more diverse networks.
  • Supports the ControlScope Connected Partner Program: Daintree adheres to ZigBee® open industry standards, and through the company’s ControlScope Connected partner program, the system is interoperable with a wide range of wireless lighting components.
  • Demand Response through OpenADR: ControlScope manages electricity consumption in response to peak hours or market prices to lower expenditures and improve grid reliability. With the emerging OpenADR standard built in, facility managers can automate their Demand Response lighting settings, and report on them for verification.
  • User Interface Enhancements: Daintree’s Web-based software interface, ControlScope Manager, has been updated with new and improved energy and utilization reporting capabilities as well as broadened dashboard and visualization options for better insight and control over lighting usage and expenditures.

ControlScope 2.0 is now available for purchase. This availability coincides with Daintree Networks’ participation in several industry events.
