RegionalCare Hospital Partners Selects HMS Clinical and Financial Applications for Multiple Hospitals

Hospital operator sites HMS strength with multi-entity organizations

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--RegionalCare Hospital Partners has selected Healthcare Management Systems Inc.® (HMS) to provide clinical and financial applications to its hospitals via ASP as part of the new strategic partnership designed to support RegionalCare’s aggressive expansion plans. Under the new agreement, RegionalCare will also install the HMS Emergency Department Information System in some of its hospitals.

Formed in 2009, Brentwood, Tenn.-based RegionalCare is a growing system led by healthcare veterans Martin S. Rash, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer, and John M. Rutledge, the company’s president and chief operating officer.

RegionalCare currently operates hospitals in Alabama, Iowa and Ohio, and is focused on providing hospitals with the financial resources and management expertise they need to deliver quality healthcare that is both affordable and accessible.

“After considering several application providers, we chose HMS based on its strong track record of creating value for multi-entity organizations like RegionalCare,” said Greg Flanagan, RegionalCare’s vice president of information technology. “HMS truly understands our business from the bottom up. We are confident that HMS will serve our hospitals well and support our overall corporate-growth objectives.”

As part of the new agreement, clinical and financial applications will be delivered by HMS DirectSM, the wholly owned HMS subsidiary that hosts and manages HMS applications for more than 70 facilities nationwide. The HMS product suite not only supports improved clinical operations, financial performance and patient care, but also helps hospitals prove meaningful use.

“HMS is pleased to welcome RegionalCare to our portfolio of corporate clients,” said Tom Stephenson, president and chief executive officer of HMS. “We are eager to provide the clinical and financial applications, as well as managed hosting services, that will help RegionalCare focus its full efforts on continued rapid growth, while further enhancing its hospitals’ ability to deliver affordable and high-quality healthcare across the country.”
