SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MapR Technologies, Inc. today announced the signing of the Apache Corporate Contributor License Agreement. The Corporate Contributor license allows MapR and designated employees to submit software contributions to the Apache Software Foundation.
“We’re committed to helping the Apache Hadoop community continue to thrive and expand,” said John Schroeder, CEO and Co-Founder, MapR Technologies. “The community has had a significant impact on big data computing and we intend to support these efforts with our own contributions.”
“This move is part of our exit from stealth and means that we will be able to contribute more openly to the Apache, other open source communities and the general ecosystem that is forming with Apache Hadoop related products,” said Ted Dunning, Chief Application Architect of MapR Technologies and Apache committer and Project Management Committee (PMC) member. In a related company blog, Ted Dunning further detailed some of the MapR contributions.
