WESTLAKE, Ohio--()--TravelCenters of America LLC (“TA”) announced it's completion of multiple on-island Diesel Exhaust Fluid (“DEF”) dispensers at the TA in Amarillo, Texas and Petro Stopping Center location in Hammond, Louisiana. These installations include a new dispensing technology and transaction system to provide professional drivers with a quicker and easier fueling process. Called the ”1+1,” the new dispensers handle both diesel fuel and DEF. Drivers can simultaneously authorize diesel fuel and DEF transactions at the same dispenser, simultaneously dispense the two products, and pay for both fills at the same time. The "1+1" dispenser also saves time because it eliminates the need for drivers to move their truck to accommodate both fills.
The new on-island bulk DEF pump technology can be found in Amarillo at I-40, exit 74, at 7000 Whitaker Rd, and in Hammond at I-12, exit 40 at Highway 51, at 2100 S.W. Railroad Ave.
DEF, which helps clean pollutants out of diesel fuel, is required for all 2011 and later truck models. All TA and Petro travel centers carry DEF in 2.5 gallon containers.
