Virtual Bridges Responds to K-12 Budget Challenges with Free Virtual Desktop Offering

Teacher’s Pet Program Provides School Districts 50 Desktop Virtualization Licenses at No Charge

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Virtual Bridges, Inc. today announced the launch of the Teacher’s Pet Program, an exclusive opportunity for K-12 school districts to receive complimentary desktop virtualization licenses. The program is designed to support educators facing severely reduced budgets by providing proven technology that eases desktop management, reduces labor costs, extends PC lifecycles and reduces security risks.

The Teacher’s Pet Program is open to K-12 organizations at accredited institutions in the United States. In addition to 50 free licenses of VERDE VDI Gen2, the program offers:

  • Single server deployment
  • Remote install and troubleshooting
  • E-mail support 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT, Monday through Friday
  • Annual maintenance of only $2,000 for all 50 seats
  • A 50 percent discount on additional licenses purchased within 60 days

“Across the board we’re looking for new and innovative ways to get more out of our existing technology investments,” said Michael Davis, Technology Director, Leakey Independent School District. “VDI Gen2 reduces desktop management costs, while providing our teachers and students an even better experience than they had before. The Virtual Bridges Teacher’s Pet campaign is a perfect way to try VDI Gen2 and see the benefits first hand.”

As the industry’s only VDI Gen2 solution, VERDE eliminates the need to track, maintain, upgrade, repair and keep virus-free all desktop and notebook computers scattered across the district. Additionally, VERDE provides flexibility, allowing teachers and students to securely access desktops regardless of whether they are in the class room, working from home or studying in the library.

“Virtual Bridges is committed to education and helping our community during these challenging times,” said Jim Curtin, CEO of Virtual Bridges. “We’ve worked with countless K-12 organizations and have seen first-hand how VDI Gen2 can deliver immediate value to school districts, offering significant savings in both CAPEX and OPEX spending. We look forward to extending these benefits to more districts throughout the U.S.”

The Teacher’s Pet program is running through June 30, 2011. To register for this program, visit http://www.vbridges.com/resources/registration-we-can-help/. To learn more about Virtual Bridges’ success working with K-12 school districts, visit: http://www.vbridges.com/wecanhelp/.
