Capario Now Processing 5010 Claims from Submitters

Organization in production with 5010 Errata version

SANTA ANA, Calif.--()--Capario, Inc., a leading provider of revenue cycle management solutions that connect healthcare payers and providers nationwide, today announced it is processing inbound 5010 claims (Errata version) in production and providing 5010 ERAs with submitters. By moving to the new standard well in advance of the January 1, 2012, deadline, providers can ensure a smooth transition and mitigate any potential issues.

“With the new 5010 standard fast approaching, we encourage all of our provider and partner clients to begin sending 5010 transactions as soon as they’re ready,” said Jim Riley, president of Capario. “Throughout this process, our team is readily available to answer questions and help provide insight into the changes that need to be made to process 5010 claims successfully.”

In February, Capario announced the release of Version 3.7 of its revenue cycle management portal. The new version included a 5010 self-testing tool. The tool enables users to submit their 5010 claims through the portal, while validating that the claim is structurally compliant with 5010. For claims that are marked with errors, the tool provides insight into what changes need to be made so submitters can take a more proactive approach and avoid potential compliance issues.

Many payers are just now beginning to test 5010 with the Errata version. When these payers are ready to come online, Capario will be able to transmit 5010 end to end well ahead of the deadline. In the interim, users ready to submit 5010 claims may do so, and Capario will down-convert to the 4010 or a payer-specific format as necessary. For submitter clients ready to receive their ERAs in a 5010 format, Capario will up-convert the 4010 ERA received from the payer to a 5010 format for the submitter. This enables submitters and payers to convert within their own timeline, providing a seamless transition for all parties.
