DUBLIN--()--Research and Markets(http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/c320f2/china_sourcing_rep) has announced the addition of the "China Sourcing Report: Kitchen & Tableware" report to their offering.
Prices of kitchen and tableware from China are expected to go up in coming months. The adjustments come as material costs continue to rise, prompting suppliers to increase product quotes to remain viable. In fact, 94 percent of interviewed companies share this projection.
Despite high costs, companies typically place strong emphasis on material selection in efforts to improve model performance and capability.
Suppliers are also enhancing the safety attributes in line with new regulations being implemented in the major international markets.
Similar to results of last year's Global Sources survey, the US and the EU will continue to be the main overseas markets. These destinations still have the most potential for growth among the various categories despite the rise of alternative export destinations such as Eastern Europe.
This report focuses on the main kitchen and tableware exported from China cookware, bakeware, kitchen organizers and knives, tabletop accessories, and glass, ceramic, porcelain and stainless steel tableware.

Key Findings
- Expectations for overseas shipments in 2011 are generally positive, with nearly all interviewed suppliers in the different categories foreseeing increases in exports this year. In preparation for the projected higher demand, a number of operations will be investing in additional production equipment or facilities.
- Some companies are also improving their existing factories and machines to raise quality and aesthetics. These may be results of efforts to comply with local laws that govern environmental hazards as well.
- In addition to rising costs of different plastic and metal types, suppliers are still feeling the effects of the labor shortage that began last year. The situation has led to competition for employees and, consequently, higher salaries. The steep appreciation of the yuan against the US dollar and other currencies, and fierce price rivalry are other significant difficulties.
- Nearly all makers are implementing various methods of dealing with the challenges. Most companies are exploring the use of new material types, while a number of operations are also enhancing manufacturing efficiency, and streamlining their operations and production procedures.
- Prices are generally anticipated to rise in the next six months amid mounting manufacturing expenses. The increases, however, are likely to be held to a maximum of 10 percent as many suppliers see a slight erosion in their margins as preferable to dampened export projections.
