FRANKLIN, Tenn.--()--Daughters of Charity Health System (DCHS) has expanded an existing partnership with Passport Health Communications Inc., selecting Registration Quality Assurance (RQA), IntelliSource and eCashiering integrated revenue cycle solutions in Passport’s eCare® Patient Access Suite. DCHS, a regional health system comprised of six hospitals and medical centers spanning the California coast, will use the software as a service (SaaS) technology to manage patient insurance and demographic verification, process patient payments and prevent administrative inaccuracies.
“Our staff will be able to automatically identify the correct payor and validate demographic information with Passport’s automatic error detection and correction capabilities, resulting in reduced re-billing and returned mail”
“Daughters of Charity Health System is committed to providing the most outstanding service possible to our patients, and using the industry’s best patient access management tools sets a higher standard across all of our facilities. The eCare® Patient Access Suite tools enable our associates to work more efficiently in support of our mission of providing excellent and compassionate care and service,” said Candace Caballero, Vice President of Revenue Cycle at DCHS.
DCHS has used Passport’s web-based revenue cycle solutions since 2008 and is enhancing its processes with the integrated solutions and services in the Care® Patient Access Suite, including RQA, IntelliSource and eCashiering. These solutions will be used to verify patient insurance eligibility and demographic information, immediately audit patient registrations and seamlessly collect patient payments prior to or at the point of service. The automated workflow is quick, efficient and accurate, and provides quality and productivity reports for immediate feedback to staff. It creates Payment Certainty for Every Patient by eliminating manual error and avoiding costly insurance denials.
“Our staff will be able to automatically identify the correct payor and validate demographic information with Passport’s automatic error detection and correction capabilities, resulting in reduced re-billing and returned mail,” said Caballero. “Identifying these issues at the point of service will reduce our AR days and improve cash flow, financial indicators that are critical to our financial stability.”
“As a large, regional health care system with multiple locations, Daughters of Charity Health System understands the financial impact of an efficient, error-free Patient Access department. With the anticipated growth in Accountable Care Organizations passed under the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, the ‘front end’ of patient care and accurate registration is becoming more important,” said Passport Chief Executive Officer Scott MacKenzie. “Our software solutions allow DCHS to raise the certainty of payment and continue providing exceptional patient care.”
The DCHS partnership adds to the more than 1,700 health systems and hospital sites across the U.S. already using Passport’s eCare® revenue cycle solutions.
