Mike the Pike Productions, Inc. Blasts Off to Year 2150 A.D. with Powerhouse Post and Visual Effects on Deep Space Sci-Fi Thriller, ‘White Space’

LOS ANGELES--()--Mike the Pike Productions, Inc. (Pink Sheets: MIKP) (www.mtpprods.com) and Ryan Colucci’s* Spoke Lane Entertainment proudly announce that the partners have secured industry favorite Filmworks FX (www.filmworksfx.com) for its recently announced high concept sci-fi thriller, ‘White Space’.

Colucci notes, “We’re keeping a lot under wraps in line with announcement strategy, but the project is set in a visually stunning deep space, 2150 AD.”

Filmworks will provide comprehensive services including visual effects and state-of-the-art digital intermediate, “with significant in-kind savings on services which could normally run most projects millions of dollars,” states MTP CEO/President, Mark B. Newbauer, “and with potential production value for ‘White Space’ in excess of $25,000,000.00. We are thrilled to have officially launched this project with principle photography set for Los Angeles, California, June 2011.”

Filmworks FX is home to a production and complete post-production pipeline that includes pre-visualization and planning, visual effects, digital intermediate, editorial, animation, digital and film acquisition, and more. Filmworks/FX routinely works with major commercial and motion picture companies including Sony Pictures, Fox Searchlight, Walden Media, Mandate Pictures, and Lionsgate. The visual effects team has provided high-end work on such films as Red Riding Hood, Knight and Day, The Terminal and Apocalypto, to name a few.

As well, Filmworks/FX, Inc. has strategically partnered with New Deal Studios to widen its offerings to include miniatures, set construction, design, rapid prototyping, shooting stages, a back lot, digital effects, motion control, and miniature photography. Principle photography commences on June 6, 2011 and the company will announce principle cast, above the line crew and significant assets on board for the project prior to.

*Ryan Patrick Colucci (born 1978) is an American feature film producer and writer. Colucci was born in Levittown, NY and later moved to Syosset, NY. After graduating from USC's Peter Stark Producing Program, he worked at Snoot Entertainment, where he was a producer on the CG-animated feature Battle for Terra. That film premiered at the 2007 Toronto Film Festival and was released on May 1, 2009 from Lion’s Gate and Roadside Attractions, in both 2D and 3D. It was on the Academy Award short-list for the Best Animated Film Oscar in 2009.
