LOS ANGELES--()--Topanga Technologies, a leading innovator of solid-state-driven plasma light engines, will launch its Advanced Plasma Lighting (APL) at the LIGHTFAIR® International annual lighting trade show and conference in Philadelphia, PA, May 17-19, 2011.
“We are pleased to have this industry opportunity at Lightfair to reveal the APL system that we are bringing to market”
Exhibited in Topanga’s booth #3738 will be the company’s APL system, comprised of a highly efficient radio frequency power amplifier, an electrode-free quartz bulb operating as a near point-source of intense plasma light, and a digital interface to maximize control and management.
"We are pleased to have this industry opportunity at Lightfair to reveal the APL system that we are bringing to market," said Greg Barry, CEO of Topanga. "This design has been engineered to optimize light, exceeding the brightness levels and energy efficiency of Induction, Fluorescent, LED and current Plasma lighting technologies on the market today. We couldn't be happier with the superior optics achievable with APL in new and traditional fixture designs."
Advanced Plasma Lighting has been designed into popular luminaires to be showcased at Topanga's Lightfair booth. The uniquely small and point-source nature of APL allows for extreme flexibility and precise optics, which will be demonstrated in a stylish HIGHBAY-mini fixture and the PLASMALEKO by 0energyLIGHTING, and two best-selling roadway and area fixtures by Grandlite Design.
“We are thrilled to design around APL,” said Lizzie Solms, COO of 0energyLIGHTING. “APL’s lumen per watt efficiency, matched with its point-source feature, allows the ability to achieve a high overall output. Housed in a cool modern design, our customers now have a range of lighting products they haven't had before.”
Topanga has extended APL to additional partners who will be displaying their APL fixture designs at Lightfair, including a high bay by Energy Solutions International in booth #3860, and a high bay by the California Lighting Technology Center in booth #3123.
“The energy efficiency of Topanga’s APL is such a clear advantage for our customers that we jumped at the chance to include a plasma option in our product lineup,” said Mark Tastad of Energy Solutions International. “Because we pride ourselves on anticipating accurate fixture performance, we took a particular liking to the ease of design with APL and we look forward to our customers’ response when seeing it for the first time at Lightfair.”
In April 2011 Topanga's Advanced Plasma Lighting received platinum-level honors in the Components category of the 2011 Product Innovation Awards by Architectural SSL Magazine, a leading lighting industry publication. Topanga will receive the award May 17 at an Architectural SSL press conference during LIGHTFAIR®. In addition to recognizing the industry’s best luminaires and components and the companies behind them, the Product Innovation Awards honor leaders in research and development, industry standards, and lighting advocacy.
